• Amazing Model Train Layouts. Model Railroad Layout Tour #58 organized by the Model Railroads of Southern California. This tour includes 29 layouts at 21 locations from Santa Ynez on the south to Paso Robles on the north, covering many scales and eras at both private and public sites. The layout tour starts on Thursday the 4th and runs through the weekend. Details here.
• At the Oceano Depot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: displays, SP boxcar, SMV caboose, and layouts, including SLOMRA layouts and Central California Coast Garden Railroad Society layout.
• FREE Festival Shuttle on Saturday: Starts 10:00am, ends 4:30pm and runs between SLO Railroad Museum, Sands Inn and Suites, and the downtown SLO Library. Parking is limited at the Museum. 10/1/18 update: The SLO Vets Hall has been added to the shuttle stops. Also, Pedicabs will be available at modest cost.
• Daylight Division of the Pacific Coast Region/NMRA Limited Train Meet, Saturday, October 6th, 8:30am-12:30pm, Registration is $4 for NMRA members, $5 for non-members, SLO Veterans Hall (map), 801 Grand Ave, San Luis Obispo
• Numerous Events and Exhibits at County Libraries and the SLO Railroad Museum.

SAN LUIS OBISPO RAILROAD MUSEUM

• Festival Details at the Museum: Click here for three days of activities at the Museum. Lots of stuff, including:
• Win an Apple Tree provided by the California Rare Fruit Growers. Enter drawing all weekend long, drawing at 2pm Sunday, need not be present to win.
• Beer Train Excursion during the Festival, October 6, 2018, 3pm, photos
• See the Museum's latest acquisition: Plymouth Diesel #2038, the only loco ever operated at SLO's Camp Roberts. More info...
• Other highlights include: large HO-scale model railroad (CCMR), swap meet, artwork and photos, food and beverages, excursions, trains coming and going, displays and information, various presentations and demonstrations, new exhibits, and walking tour of the Historic Railroad District
