2021 CCRRF Fast Approaching

The 2021 Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF) Schedule is here. It may still adjust to some degree so check back now and then. All the details for any Festival activities noted below can be found on the CCRRF Schedule page.

Model Layout Tour

There are 29 layouts at 17 locations on the tour this year. The details are here.

Only 2 Days Left to Enter Amtrak Ticket Drawing

The deadline for submitting to win round-trip Amtrak tickets for five from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara is September 25th. Get coloring contest forms and submit entries at SLO County Library branches. The details are here.

New: Dana Adobe and the PCRy

Joining the Railroad Festival this year for the first time is the Dana Adobe & Cultural Center in Nipomo, CA. Among other interesting things to see and learn about at the Dana Adobe is a length of right-of-way where the Pacific Coast Railway (PCRy) once ran. You can walk along that trail and/or take in the special displays they have about the PCRy. Details for the Dana Adobe over the Festival weekend are here.

Norgrove Railway Open House

The new Norgrove Railway will participate this year in the form of an Open House on Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. Come see what this railroad will have to offer! Shop tours. Operating steam and diesel locomotives and a live-steam steamroller. Train rides will not be available this year. Details are here.

Davenport 2-6-2 Restoration

Just added to the activities at the SLO Railroad Museum... A video presentation about a WWI trench engine, a Davenport 2-6-2, fully restored and now operational at the Norgrove Railway here in southern SLO County. This was by far the Museum's most popular session of their Parlor Car Chats program during the pandemic shutdown. This video presentation will be at the Museum on Saturday at 11am.
