Stop by and learn how Hi-Rails operate and how they're used.

SLO Railroad Museum Photo Contest:

It's just over a month to the submission deadline (9/15/22) with a $100 first place prize at stake. The winning photos will be displayed at the SLO Railroad Museum (SLORRM) for a year starting the weekend of the Central Coast Railroad Festival. Get all the contest details here.

This class gives local Boy Scouts of America an opportunity to earn their Railroading Merit Badge. Activities include an interactive Amtrak history tour (time permitting), learning basic railroad signals, model train displays, whistle/horn demonstrations, and learning from Operation Lifesaver presenters about rail safety. Wine Tasting on La Cuesta

Enfold Wines will be tasting their award-winning 2015 GSM (Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre) at the SLO Railroad Museum starting at 12pm on Saturday of the Railroad Festival (October 8th), while supplies last. For more information about Enfold's history and philosophy, visit the Enfold Wines website. La Cuesta is the 1926 Pullman Observation car alongside the Museum's platform.

BBQ Dinners and Online Auction

Join in the fun this year at the SLO Railroad Museum to raise funds for getting their Southern Pacific Railroad box car #28148 across the finish line. Over the years, slowly but surely, the car has been entirely renovated except for the door - the one last piece of the renovation project. Once the finished door is in place, they need to move the completely renovated car to the Museum display track. And ultimately, create a new exhibit inside the car: "The People of the Southern Pacific Railroad, Central Coast." This is envisioned as a display to honor the men and women of the SPRR who worked here on the Central Coast, especially those who gave their lives working on the railroad. Details...
