National Garden Railway Convention 2023
Post-Convention Tour on Central Coast!

The 2023 National Garden Railroad Convention will be held in Santa Clara, CA, July 1-8, 2023. You can find more details here. Immediately following the convention, the Central California Coast Garden Railroad Society will be hosting a two-day post-convention tour July 10-11, 2023 in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. There will be at least twelve garden railroads open, as well as Bitter Creek Western RR and Norgrove Railway. Here's more info.

Annual Friends BBQ and
Open House at the SMVRR

Join us for the annual Santa Maria Valley Railroad Open House and BBQ at the Osburn Rail Yard on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Details will be posted here as we get closer to the event. Save the date now!

SLO Railroad Museum
Photo Contest is Open

The 2023 SLORRM Photo Contest is officially open for submissions. The 2023 guidelines are here. Last year's winners are here. Photographers under 18 years of age may participate this year (see the guidelines). The deadline for submission is September 15, 2023.

Scenic Train Rides in California

Stumbled onto this webpage: "If you're looking to remember what it's like to enjoy the journey and tour Northern California in a unique way - or you just want to give the family a special experience they'll never forget - then traveling Northern California's scenic railways are the perfect way to do just that." Car Tour Pacific Coast Railway
SLO to Arroyo Grande

Back in 2015, the Festival made available this self-guided car tour of sites still "visible" along the Pacific Coast Railway right-of-way from San Luis Obispo to Arroyo Grande. The railroad existed from 1876 to 1942. Here's the Tour PDF.

2023 Convention
